Board Financials Workshop
About this Event
Governing bodies have as one of their most important undertaking, the execution of fiduciary responsibility. Board of directors are tasked with reviewing and approving the annual budgets, audits, annual and periodic financial statements.
Did you know that Board members can be held personally liable for not fulfilling their board responsibilities (non-management) and for conducting their duties poorly or improperly (negligence)?
On any given day, board members across Canada are making financial decisions and approving budgets without understanding the financial importance and ramifications of those decisions.
In this course, we will cover the fundamentals of board financial analysis and interpretation. You will review real financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Statement). In addition, the course will cover key financial ratios used to gauge strategic organizational performance and assist in financial forecasts.
This workshop will be facilitated by Livleen Veslemes. Livleen is CMA and CPA certified and has years of board and executive experience. Livleen was named BC Business Changemaker Woman of the Year.
