The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer is an independent organization funded by the federal government to accelerate action on cancer control for all Canadians.
Our model is unique to addressing cancer, cooperating and collaborating across jurisdictions and organizations.
Our efforts are collectively focused on the long-term objectives of reducing the incidence of cancer, reducing the likelihood of dying from cancer and improving the quality of life of those affected by cancer.
The successful candidate is expected to attend Board meetings (at least four meetings per year in cities across Canada) as well as participate on one of the Committees reporting to the Board. Committee meetings are typically held two weeks prior to Board meetings. Due to COVID-19, all Board and Committee meetings will continue to be virtual until it is determined that travel can resume across Canada.Qualifications:
Candidates interested in serving as the Indigenous Director at Large (First Nations) should self-identify as First Nations, have a working knowledge of First Nations, Inuit and Métis health services and challenges. Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities as well as experience working with National Indigenous Organizations and governments. Past experience serving on a board and knowledge of the workings of a board from a good governance perspective will be considered assets.
