Since 1989, Phoenix has grown from an idea, to its first programs and is now a multi-faceted, integrated service provider that offers a variety of programs and support services, including Bed-Based Substance Use Treatment, Supportive Housing, Employment, Extreme Weather Shelters, Community Corrections, Counselling, Home Ownership and Outreach Programs.

The Society has the ability to provide the best care for a diverse client population and relies on a team who embodies a rich diversity of skills, knowledge, background, and experience. A key purpose of the Society is to provide housing and support services for people at multiple entry points on the continuum; the Society develops community-based projects that meet people where they are at, helping participants exit the cycle of addiction and homelessness.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is accountable for guiding the leadership and vision of all aspects of Phoenix Society. The CEO is responsible for achieving strategic, financial, service, and operational objectives, in alignment with the organizational mandate and Board direction. The CEO will provide strong and effective leadership to the staff and develop valuable relationships with key external stakeholders and the broader community.

This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative, community-driven leader who is dedicated to service leadership, governance, and organizational development. The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in a relevant field (such as business, behavioural sciences, social work, etc.) with a minimum of 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in social services. The successful candidate will have knowledge of strategic and operational planning in combination with board governance, financial oversight, community engagement, and fund development. The role requires excellent interpersonal communication and team-building skills, with a commitment to building a positive and effective organizational culture. An equivalent combination of experience, education, and skills will also be considered.

This position requires satisfactory completion of a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis Screening form, completion of an Employee Immunization Record form, First aid certification with CPR, and a valid driver’s license.

The salary range for the position is $170,000 to $184,000 per year, supplemented by an attractive total compensation package.
