Reporting to the General Manager of Engineering, Parks & Facilities, the Deputy General Manager, Engineering Services directs the operations and programs of the Design, Engineering Services, Golf Operations, and Transportation sections of the Engineering Department. In addition, the Deputy General Manager supports the approval process, and works with District’s Development Approvals Department on Land Development matters as required. The Deputy General Manager is responsible for assisting with policy formulation, planning department programs and objectives, and supporting a variety of broad divisional matters.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a dynamic individual with a passion for public service, community, municipal engineering and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in the public sector, with a degree in Civil Engineering. This position requires progressive supervisory, human resources and administrative experience in engineering services with extensive knowledge of municipal infrastructure and strategic asset management best practices. The preferred candidate will be registered with the Engineering and Geoscientists of BC and have extensive knowledge and familiarity with local government legislation, bylaws, and policies.

The salary range for the position is $185,000 to $196,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
